The procedures below will be used for all ACA events where prizes are not evenly split. The Tournament Organizer may choose to have a playoff tiebreak instead. A playoff tiebreak must be announced before the start of the tournament in order for it to take precedence over the tie-breaks below.
Swiss event:
1. Head to head (if all those tied played each other).
2. Buchholz (sum of all scores of opponents).
3. Buchholz cut 1 (sum of all scores of opponents except the lowest point scorer).
4. Sonneborn-Berger (sum of all scores of opponents won against and half the scores of opponents drawn).
5. Most wins.
6. Most games with black.
Round Robin event:
1. Head to head (among those tied).
2. Sonneborn-Berger (sum of all scores of opponents won against and half the scores of opponents you drawn).
3. Koya system (total points scored against opponents who scored at least 50%).
4. Most wins.
5. Most games with black.
