Eligibility: Alberta residents who will have reached the age of 50 by December 31, 2019

Tournament format:
 5-round Open Swiss, CFC & FIDE rated.
CFC membership is required and may be purchased on site. Annual membership is $43, tournament membership is $21.

Time Control: Game in 90 minutes + 30 seconds/move

Schedule
Saturday 
On-site registration: 9:15 am – 9:45 am
Rounds 1-3: 10 am, 2 pm, 6 pm
Sunday
Rounds 4-5: 10 am, 2 pm or ASAP
Default late time is 60 minutes. A 30-minute break between games is guaranteed. 

Registration: Fill out the form above. Payment will be made on site by either cash or cheque made out to Alberta Chess Association. Pre-registered players must come by 9:45 am on Saturday or they won’t be paired.

Entry Fee: $25 if registered online before noon, May 10, $30 on site. Free entry for GM/IM/FM title holders.

Prizes: Sum of entry fees minus ACA dues of $5 per player. The winner receives a travel grant of up to $500 towards a trip to the 2019 Canadian Seniors Championship. If the 2019 Canadian Seniors Championship does not take place as expected, the winner may petition the board to use the travel funds at an event of equal prestige within one year of the winning the award.

Byes: A maximum of two half-point byes available in rounds 1-4 if requested before the start of round 1.
