2016 Calgary Chess Challenge Sponsored by the Calgary Jr. Chess Club (CJCC) and the Calgary Chess Club Date: March 19, 2016 Venue: Calgary Chess Club, #274 3359 27 Street NE, Calgary, Alberta T1Y 5E4 Organizers: Guoliang Wu and Vlad Rekhson, email: firstname.lastname@example.org 12 Sections (Grades 1-12) Format: The exact format of each section will depend on the number of participants but players should expect to play 5 games. Time control: Game in 20 minutes with a 5-second increment. Entry fee: $20 if pre-registered online by 8 pm, Friday, March 18th, $25 afterwards and on site.
Byes: In case you cannot be there all the time you can request advanced half point byes. Up to two 1/2-point byes will be allowed and not for the 5th round. For more information about byes contact Vlad Rekhson. Registration Fill out the registration form above. Payment will be made on site by cash.

Prizes in each section 1st place: Free entry to the 2016 Alberta Chess Challenge (ACC) + $25 travel grant to ACC. 2nd place: 2nd place trophy + $20 travel grant to ACC. 3rd place: 3rd place trophy + $15 travel grant to ACC.
2016 Alberta Chess Challenge will be held in Red Deer on April 9th. Travel grant holders must provide receipts to be reimbursed for their travel expenses.
